FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 5:6-9

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

STUDY DETAILS:

Peter helps us live out our hope in the midst of our struggles, trials, and times of suffering and persecution—for the glory of God and the gospel. In this study, we will be encouraged and learn how to respond in grace love Jesus and follow Him fully in each and every area of our lives. This is the second part companion study to Precious Hope. Six Lessons (Seven weeks including the Introduction).

Local Classes:

  • Monday Evening In-Person and Zoom:
    • Registration Fee: $15.00
      Book $18.99 Living Hope (purchase is required to participate)
    • Location: Thistlebend offices, 11405 Park Road Louisville, KY 40223
    • Time: Monday evenings, 7:00-8:45 p.m., starting Monday, September 14th, 2026
    • Books will be handed out during the first week of class or if you are participating remotely via Zoom, books will be shipped the week before
    • Study begins with an Introduction teaching lecture and books will be handed out the first week.

  • Wednesday Morning In-Person and Zoom:
    • Registration Fee: $15.00

    • Time: Wednesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 a.m., starting Wednesday, September 16th, 2026.
    • Zoom: Link will be sent 30 minutes prior to class
    • Books will be handed out during the first week of class or if you are participating remotely via Zoom, books will be shipped the week before
    • Study begins with an Introduction teaching lecture and books will be handed out the first week.

Online Class:

The study begins with an Introduction teaching lecture available by Saturday, September 19th

How the Online Study Works:
  • Registration Fee: $10.00
  • Book $18.99 Living Hope
  • Each week, the teaching lecture for the current lesson will be posted by Friday evening, to be available on Saturday morning (or whenever you choose to view/listen)
  • We Recommend: Before you receive your book look at your schedule and plan when you will view/listen to the teaching lecture (approximately 35 minutes). Mark your calendar for that day and time for the duration of the study.
  • Once the Introduction teaching lecture has been viewed/listened to, begin the homework for Lesson One (in your workbook) the next day.
  • An online group leader will give you instructions and communicate with you on a regular basis through email (and even text if you would prefer).
  • Class resources can be accessed on the Thistlebend App or on our Website.
  • Books will be shipped before the start date.
